Lonnie Max Obeidin, 68, a retired attorney, died Sunday, March 5, 2017, at a care center in Keller, Texas. Visitation: Friday, March 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Martin Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral: Saturday, March 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Marty Leonard Community Chapel, 3131 Sanguinet St., Fort Worth, Texas. Graveside service at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 2301 North Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX following services (Sylvania and 28th Street). Pallbearers: Barry Kammer, Paul Kohler, Truman Bradshaw, Mark Henson, Randy Horton, Jose Tapia, Jeremy Obeidin and Joshua Obeidin. Lonnie Max Obeidin, 68, a loving father, uncle, and brother, left this life for an everlasting life with the Lord Jesus on Sunday, March 5, 2017, after battling years of health issues and passing away of natural causes. He was born on May 28, 1948, in Fort Worth, Texas to Harry and Violet Obeidin. He grew up attending Trinity Lutheran Church, and his faith in God grew even stronger in the last years of his life. He was a graduate of Amon Carter Riverside High School in 1966, the University of Texas at Arlington with a degree in History in 1970, and Texas Tech School of Law in 1973. He practiced law in Fort Worth for many years, including several years as an Assistant District Attorney. Lonnie loved fishing, hunting, traveling, cruising, family and friends. He enjoyed trips to Minnesota to the cabin and many vacation trips with his boys. He enjoyed a good meal and was an awesome cook! Mostly, he was a great father, brother and friend! His smile, laughter and generous heart will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him! He is preceded in death by parents, Harry and Violet Obeidin, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Survived by sons, Lonnie Max Obeidin, Jr. of Tysons Corner, VA and John Michael Obeidin of Fort Worth, and their mother Heli Paljakka-Nadir of Helsinki, Finland; brother, Donald Obeidin and wife, Pam of Fort Worth; aunt, Joyce Karkela of Perham, MN; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
