I still remember all the summers that my cuz Lonnie would stay with us in northern Minnesota. We spent time at my grandfather's cabin on Crooked Lake, at our cabin on Little Moose Lake, at Grandma and Grandpa Karkela's farm (raiding her strawberries, making forts in the hayloft out of haybales, enjoying a herd of cousins and family, enjoying great cooking, making forts in rock piles, going over to Ina and John Simi's for cool aid, cookies, and John's corny jokes etc), at Howard and Joyce's farm (helping during haying season, cleaning up cow poop, or helping during milking), and even spending time at our house in Hibbing. At the cabin, we would do a lot of fishing (early morning casting for bass and coming back to my mom's homemade pancakes & syrup, with lots of bacon), lots of swimming, diving, surfboarding, gardening, picking strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, saunas (very hot.....with a dive into the lake after when it was pitch dark out), ice cream cones at the Balsam store, going visiting at Adamsons, jumping off the sides of the sandpit, telling stories, sometimes staying up half the night (I have no idea what we talked about) and eating my mom's incredible cooking!!!!!!! Mosquitos, work, fun, family, and laughter......I shared a lot of time and enjoyment with my cuz Lonnie.....I love him, and will always remember him.......Lonnie, you are now in God's hands.....You belong to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ..... may your soul rest in peace, and we will get ice cream cones in the Heavenly Balsaam Store some day.........my prayers and love to Max, John, Don, and the whole family.
God Bless You All,
Cousin Rod Tuomi

I am so sorry for the family's loss of this sweet soul so early in his life. He was a kind man and he raised two of the sweetest men, John and Max. John has been such a supportive and generous friend to our family and he always spoke so highly of his father Lonnie. May he rest in peace and love in the afterlife.
Sincerely,
The Perez Family

Lonnie was as fine a person as I've ever met. He was generous and kind. I had been out of touch with him the past few years, but thought of him often. Just a first-class person. And an excellent attorney.

I feel like I have lost a family member. Even though we've not seen each other for years we still were good friends...all our lives. He will be missed. He had a great sense of humor and was especially kind. I'm praying for comfort for Don and the rest of the family.
