Philippe was born on April 26, 1967 in Nice, France to Michel and Lucie Bertaud. He was an outstanding guitar performer, passionate artist, and beloved teacher who spent his life creating, composing, recording albums, touring the world and dedicating himself to education. Philippe married his wife Thavone in 1990. Jade was born a year later, and Alexandre in 1995. The family moved to Texas in 2005, following Philippe's deep love for the United States and its spirit.
An artist with no boundaries and a man cherished for his warmth, joy, and strength of character, Philippe's spirit stays lively in the lives of those who have crossed his path. He is most remembered for his generous love of others, his reverence for life, his extraordinary talent, and his unforgettable gift for breathing humor, heart, and positivity in his fellows and friends. Philippe's signature is one of delicate sensibility and passionate drive, of contagious enthusiasm, of dancing and partying, of taking the time to enjoy the simple delights of living the good life, and of sharing love and happy times with family and friends. We rejoice for we have gained a new guide who will devotedly uplift, inspire, and empower us to be who we are, carry out our purpose in the world, and celebrate the beauty of life.
