Myra was my big sister. She was my nursemaid as a baby, bed fellow as a child and my confidant as an adult. When Louie and her got married, I cried the whole ceremony because Myra told me she was not coming home with me but with Louie. Chris was born 4 days before my 8th birthday and when they came home from the hospital Myra said she hadn’t had time to get me a present but maybe Chris would do. I have a million wonderful memories. She always told me I was her first baby even the last time I spoke to her. I thank God she was such an important part of my life and my second mother. Myra, I will love and miss you forever.

When I attended vacation Bible school as a small child, Myra would visit with us at Aunt Carrel's. Eric was a baby and was so cute. She was a doting mom and a woman of great faith, a role model. Aunt Carrel and Uncle Ray were very proud of her. She was always so very nice to us.

My cousin, Myra, was 10 years younger than my daddy, Noel. When I was a little girl, she and Louie would visit often. They were fun to be around and were close to my mama and daddy, so much so that I called Louie my Funny Bunny.
I remember Myra selling A. L. Williams life Insurance, always trying out new business business endeavors, always learning. She was loving, compassionate, and had great faith in the Lord. I admired her.
The last time I saw Myra, she, Louie, Apryl, and I had breakfast together in Slidell. We had a great visit. I am so happy that Apryl included me that day. ♥️

Much as I have many great memories of Slidell with mom, there are more from New Orleans when it was just the three of us. Always loved MOM, and know all our memories of times with you will be fond ones and will stay with us till we see you again one day.

I went to church with the Goodwins when I met them when I was a teenager. Apryl and I became close friends, but unfortunately didn't go to the same schools. Mrs. Myra and Mr. Louie welcomed me into their home. They let Apryl and I have many sleepovers, having fun and watching movies. Over the years, I watched the Goodwin family grow and the love she had for her family. She had a beautiful smile and a loving heart. She's been a special lady in my life and will always have a special place in my heart.

Myra and I were cousins. When we would visit our Thomas grandparents at the same time we would play together. After we grew up we went our separate ways and didn’t see each other. The last few years we reconnected on Facebook and caught up. She was a sweet lady.

It was a pleasure to know Myra at Southcliff. I got to sing with her in the Southcliff Adult Choir throughout the year and as we participated in the Singing Christmas Tree. She also was an active member in the Saints Alive Choir at Southcliff and went with us as we sang at various retirement centers and nursing homes. She always enjoyed being a part of the Southcliff worship ministry and we were glad she did!

Myra is my Mother In-law. She will be, and is, greatly missed yet will forever be fondly remembered as a very strong, family oriented, kind, caring woman. I have always admired the love Louie and Myra had for each other. It was a love story from day one - one that will continue to thrive, even beyond death.
I am honored to have been asked to do the memorial video, and I hope it does justice to the life and love of this remarkable woman. We may have lost the backbone to the family, but Heaven gained a precious gem.
Myra, you will be missed beyond measure, remembered countlessly, and loved more than you could ever know.

We were 11 when we visited Myra’s grandfathers farm in Tillman corner. I had a new pocket knife so we decided to go pick some cucumbers and eat them hot while we were playing with our sisters. Later that night Myra and I had real bad stomach issues but we had fun. Until a few years ago I wouldn’t even consider eating a cucumber.
We all played together I had two younger sisters and Myra had a younger sister and brother. We used get her mom to take us to the creek (crick)to swim.

I met Myra when I was in the 7th grade through Chris. She was the kindest mom I had met. She was always classy. Thanks to Facebook I got to reconnect with her years later. We chatted often and I realized she had never changed. Still a very classy mom. She was very proud of her husband children and her grandchildren. I hope she knew how much I admired her. I truly fell in love with her years ago and that never changed. She was the kind of person who just found a way to touch your heart and soul. Rest in peace sweet Myra. Till I see you again. Love you
