Obituary of Floyd Ray Brown
Floyd Ray Brown, 65, of Fort Worth, Texas, peacefully passed away in his sleep on October 18, 2024. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Floyd was born on June 2, 1959, in Fort Worth, Texas, to William "Bill" and Helen Brown. He was a hard worker, dedicated to his family and community, and was known for his warm, welcoming nature. His loved ones often said he never met a stranger and could make friends wherever he went.
Floyd had a wide range of passions, from fishing, bingo, and karaoke to dancing and playing his guitar. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, often attending their sporting events and sharing in their joy. A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Floyd’s enthusiasm for the team was a source of friendly rivalry among family members. He was also deeply committed to his church, where he enjoyed singing and playing guitar with the band.
Floyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 30 years, Kay Brown; his parents, Bill and Helen Brown; siblings Shirley, Barbara, and Bill Jr.; his father and mother-in-law, Billie and Bettye; brothers-in-law Sonny and Don; and sister-in-law Lori.
He is survived by his children: Cory (and wife Lisa), Deja (and husband Adam), Heather (and husband Delvin), and Micheal. He is also survived by his siblings: Corky, Billy, Looney, Bonnie, and Tracy; sister-in-law Dianne; and brother-in-law Kevin. Floyd leaves behind 12 grandchildren: Alan, Brent, Kyle, Sean, Hunter, Justin, Eli, Tucker, Briley, Peyton, Austin, and Gunner, as well as 4 great-grandchildren: AJ, Ariah, Asher, and Raelynn, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service to celebrate Floyd's life will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at His House of Prayer, located at 6300 Griggs St., Forest Hill, TX 76119. His family invites all who knew and loved Floyd to join them in honoring his memory.
