Oh Michael you will be so very missed. I remember our family reunions and water skiing and parasailing and playing board games in to the wee hours. Lighting fireworks with your dad on Fourth of July nights in Denver and Albuquerque. Most recently your phone calls to see how I was making out after Chris passed. So sincere and heartfelt. Rest easy.

Q: What will you never forget about Michael?
A: Michael D is one of a kind! I will forever cherish our time together at Corral, where our friendship began! His brilliant mind intrigued me, and his wit captured me! From the time of meeting we hit it off right away… and then our buddy Mason joined the wolf pack! We quickly became what we considered, “the original gangsters” Being very proud of who we thought we were as individuals, we all loved to text each other with provocative speech, slang, and speech that spoke to one another’s true gangster side! LOL His heart was pure and authentic, he is one person in the industry I could always count on to be honest, authentic, and could share heart to heart conversations with and feel safe in that space! I will think of you every birthday, as you never let one pass where I didn’t receive a phone call and text! I love that you took the time to keep up with the importance of someone special day! We are oldschool, agenda writings fools!! Forever and always, Michael D! You will be tremendously missed by so many of us!! Until we meet again, peace Big DAWG!

So many awesome things to say about MD”my brother from another Mother” but a fun one was at WESA markets , people would come to my private showroom and hug and shake hands with me, then they would go into break room and see Michael, realizing I wasn’t him lol. I did enjoy the hugs from the pretty girls thou lol
MD you knew exactly what you did to the Western Industry, Carrie your girls and family will always remember that.

I am brokenhearted to read this. Michael was one of the people I met early in my career in the industry and he always made me feel like his best friend. His light is gone too soon.

Q: What will you never forget about Michael?
A: I will never forget the days I got to spend with Michael. My mom would often let my brother and I tag along on her work trips to various places around the US. I always looked forward to seeing Michael the most. He not only would make your gut hurt from laughing so much, but he would also sneak little nuggets of wisdom in between the jokes.
Michael is a large reason I have the skills I use today in my career. He helped me so much when it came to sales, and having confidence at greeting strangers and helping them out around the stores we worked in. He used to always sit back in the boot section and tap me on the shoulder to say “hey Nick ducks on the pond” as a customer would walk up. Mind you I am 14 years old and selling kids boots as a game while working with my mom haha. Such hilarious memories. I wish I could be telling him how much he impacted me in person instead of writing this here. My his memory be eternal.. He was taken far too early❤️

I remember the day the D’Vorak’s moved in next store. Banker ran inside…”There’s a moving truck and they have girls..”. This began a lifelong friendship across many generations. We are devastated our friend Mike has passed, thankful for the gifts he gave us, and terribly thankful our paths crossed. Putting great effort to put good vibes out there in support of the beautiful D'Vorak gals, thankfully you are all beautiful, strong and smart. Know that there is a bunch of folks back here that care an awful lot.❤️

Michael was a sweet man. He always called me on my birthday, and we’d take that opportunity to catch up and visit. At WESA, I looked forward to seeing him. He was always up to something. When we were colleagues at Anderson-Bean, he had a ukelele in his office. Excited to see it there, I asked if he played. He said it was a gift and he did not. So we spent the afternoon in his office, and a taught him what I knew of the ukelele. I’ll always remember him, fondly.
