Keith Juhl Vegors, age 65, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2014 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Keith and his twin brother, Ken, were born May 19, 1949 to Keith and Lucille (Bell) Vegors in Webster City, Iowa. Keith graduated from Webster City High School with the Class of 1967 and was active in student government, athletics and served as President of the Future Farmers of America. He established life-long friendships with many high school classmates that were a source of great pride and support during his battle with cancer. Keith treasured the time he spent growing up on a farm and continued his education of farming at Iowa State University where he received a Bachelor and Master's Degree in Agricultural Education and Business. Keith was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, a letter-winner on the varsity golf team and active in numerous campus organizations. Keith was an honor graduate of the Iowa Military Academy and a commissioned officer in the United States Army. Upon graduation, Keith began a career in commercial banking in Minneapolis, MN. He moved his family to Southlake, TX in 1993 to become Chairman and CEO of First National Bank of Grapevine. Keith was very involved in the Grapevine and Southlake communities and served on the Board of Directors of Baylor Grapevine Medical Center, the Southlake Carroll High School Stadium Committee, Rotary International and the Grapevine and Southlake Educational Foundations. Keith is survived by his loving family including devoted wife, Carolyn. Keith and Carolyn would have celebrated 35 years of marriage on December 1, 2014. Other survivors include son Jay, wife Jenn and their daughter Reilly, of Grapevine; daughter Anne-Marie and husband Woody, of Dallas, TX; sister, Karen Jo Peterson, of Kihei, HI; brother Ken, wife Patti, of Scottsdale, AZ and his loving family dogs Jake, Tchoupper and Maggie. Keith is also survived by six nieces and nephews. Keith's greatest passions in life were his family, antique farm equipment, golf, and horses. Keith maintained a low single digit golf handicap until his illness and was a former member of The Sports Club of Las Colinas, The Vaquero Club and a proud member of the Iowa State Letter Winner's Club. Keith was a faithful follower of Christ our Lord, and was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church. He was especially grateful to the men's bible study group at Vaquero for the special friendships and care provided during his illness. A Memorial Service to honor Keith's life will be held at 1 p.m. on October 18, 2014 at White's Chapel United Methodist Church, 185 South White Chapel Boulevard, Southlake, TX. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gatehouse at Grapevine, P.O.
