Obituary of Cynthia Eleen Scott

Please share a memory of Cynthia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Cynthia Eleen Scott was born on November 13, 1960 in Youngstown, Ohio, to the union of Jonathan and Aquila Harris. She gave her life to the Lord as a child under the pastoral leadership of her grandfather, Joshua Harris. Cynthia was a 1978 graduate of The Rayen School and The Choffin Career & Technical Center in Youngstown, where she received her initial training as an executive secretary.

On January 18, 1986, Cynthia married the love of her life, Rev. K. Adrian Scott, and to their union was born one son, Karl Adrian Scott, II (Debby). They have three grandchildren, Kamylle Imani Scott, Karl A. Scott, III (KJ), and Kenzie Rae Scott.

Cynthia’s vibrant personality and attention to detail caused her to excel in her profession. She served as the administrative assistant to Dr. Jeffrey Milsom, one of the pioneers in the field of minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH; and, she was the executive assistant to the divisional vice president at Sprint Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. In January 2008 Cynthia was blessed to begin her service as the administrative assistant, then office manager, at the Ft. Worth Presbyterian Church. At FWPC Cynthia’s calling and gifts were tremendously affirmed through her service. Although a consummate professional she was known for her bright personality and joyous demeanor. Cynthia loved people and enjoyed a wonderful working relationship with all her colleagues.

Cindy loved crafts of all types, particularly sewing and making handmade dolls; additionally, she enjoyed collecting cookbooks and going to garage and estate sales. Cynthia also loved to read the Bible, listen to her husband’s sermons and the teaching ministry of Alistair Begg.

Cynthia gently passed away at the Baylor Medical Center in Dallas on Sunday, March 19, 2023 with her loving husband and son by her side. In addition to her husband Adrian, her son Karl (Debby) and her grandchildren, she leaves to mourn two sisters, Angela Bilal and Gail Harris; foster children Joshua and Ngoyi Kasongo; a step-daughter, Dr. Heather Sanders (Brian) and grandchildren Kennedy, Brody & Khloe; sisters-in-law Marcia Harris, Lisa K. Loyd (Gerald) and Lori A. Dumas (Dwight); brothers-in-law Charles B Scott and Michael Reese (Victoria), and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and her sister Elizabeth.”
