I became friends with Dennis many years ago thru my long time friendship with his sister, Ruth Ann. Dennis always had a smile & a joke for me everytime he saw me and I looked forward to seeing him, whether it was to join he and Ruthie for a meal out or simply a visit while he was at Ruthie's home. I will miss him terribly; but, know that I will see him again in heaven one day, where I'm sure he'll be waiting with a joke for me. To Ruthie and Lamar, I continue to pray for you both and ask God to bless you with his peace, comfort and grace and to give you the strength for each new day. Friends Forever, June Jones

Oh my sweet friend Dennis. What a wonderful picture this is of you. I don’t have words to describe my sadness knowing you are gone. Our friendship lasted 54 years and I cherish every moment we shared. I just expected to have many more. Whether it was at work, having lunch with our Bell retirees or a conversation on the phone it was just a pleasure to be in your presence. You never had a bad comment about anyone and you shared your knowledge with everyone that reached out for your advice. I’ll for ever remember the one comeback you always had when I ask how you were. You would always say “Oh Pretty Crappy” with a smile on your face. So whenever I called you I would ask if I was speaking to Mr. Crappy. We would both laugh. You told me that the employees at your bank would shout out “here comes Mr. Crappy” when you entered the door. That was just your sweet and funny personality. If you ever seriously had a crappy day it was never obvious. I love you Dennis and I’ll remember you the rest of my life with fondness, happiness, and a chuckle when someone says they are having a crappy day. When I get to heaven I’ll ask Saint Peter to take me to see Mr. Crappy. Until then Rest in peace my dear friend.
Ruth Ann and Lamar my prayers are with you. I know this has been a difficult month for you both with the passing of Lamar's wife and now Dennis. God just needed another angel in heaven.

Dennis was a great friend while we worked at Bell. I worked with his father at General Dynamics but I didn't know Dennis there. He was a fine person and was always willing to help with difficulties at work, even during lunch or for a bit of time after work. I know that all those that dealt with him away from work will also miss his good cheer and friendly smile. On the 25th of each month, I would always tell him how many months until Christmas. His reply was always the same, "OH, jeez!!" then he would laugh! I'll remember him laughing!
