Obituary of Richard Carroll Sharp
Richard (Ricky) Carroll Sharp, passed away on July 7, 2017, at the age of 55. He died peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by family. He was born December 5, 1961, to Jimmy Ray and Nadine Sharp in Carlsbad, NM and spent the first phase of his life in Hobbs, NM with his parents and his two sisters.
Ricky left Hobbs to attend Abilene Christian University. After graduating, he took a job in Fort Worth, Texas with Walmart where he worked for 21 years.
Ricky enjoyed playing games, running, walking, collecting coins and sports memorabilia. He had several favorite teams, but was a fanatic for the Dallas Cowboys.
He was a master of the domino table. He kept himself busy working up new winning strategies to beat the uncles and cousins at the next Sharp reunion. As a young man, he inspired us all by studying and presenting sermons and singing hymns.
He was blessed to have many wonderful friends, family and prayer warriors who were loving and faithful to come visit, call, and minister to him the last several months.
He is survived by his mother, sisters Lori Perry and husband Hub from Hobbs, NM and Michelle Jones and husband John of Saginaw, TX, nieces Reagan Perry of Lubbock, TX, and Lauren Jones of Saginaw, TX nephews Landry Perry of Hobbs, NM and Evan Jones of Saginaw, TX and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Jimmy Ray.
The service will be at Bedford Church of Christ, 2401 Bedford Rd, Bedford, TX. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. then the celebration of his life will follow at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11. Interment at Parker Memorial in Grapevine, TX will immediately follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to an organization of your choice.
