Ocie Lockridge, Jr., 85, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017, surrounded by his children.
Service: 11 am Thursday, Strangers Rest Baptist Church, 5705 Donnelly Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76107.
Interment: Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
Ocie was born on December 31, 1931 in Bremond, TX to the Parents of Ocie, Sr. and Leona. While living in Calvert, TX, he met and married Edith Mae Edwards. Together they had three children, James, Burnett and Carolyn.
Ocie worked at the Fort Worth Club as a Chef. After retiring, he worked for Smith Security. Ocie accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and United with Highland Park Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev B. F. Johnson. He later joined the choir and was ordained as a Deacon. His joy of cooking and grilling lead him to cook on special occasions at the church.
Ocie was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Edith Lockridge, son, Burnett Lockridge, as well as his parents and two sisters.
Survivors: He leaves to cherish his memory his son, James Lockridge; two daughters, Carolyn Watson (Raymond), and Kathy Jones; 7 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and extended family.
