Obituary of David K. Farmer

David K. Farmer peacefully left this earthly life on Sunday, January 15, 2017 after a brief illness. Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hallmark Baptist Church on January 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. David Keith Farmer was born May 21, 1958 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the youngest of 3 boys born to Kenneth & Betty. David was not a big fan of school and some of the funniest stories Betty used to tell were of her attempts to get him to school. She used to say that she should have gotten to walk across the stage when he graduated. David did graduate from O. D. Wyatt and went on to continue his education, earning an associate’s degree from TCC. He was married to Elaine English until her death and they had one son, David (Keith) who idolized his Dad. They did everything together. David later married his best friend and constant companion, his loving wife, Susan. David was a retiree of the FWISD as Manager of Fire Alarm Systems. Early in life, David developed a love of music, which he never lost. The Beatles changed his world. He taught himself how to play guitar and drums and even wrote a few songs. David was a sports fan and this was one of the ways he connected to his older brothers growing up. David loved hockey, from the old time Fort Worth Wings to the FW Fire and the Dallas Stars. He collected jerseys, hats, flags and stickers, but TCU athletics were on top of his hit list. Football, Baseball, Basketball-didn’t matter to him if it involved TCU, he knew the details of the Horned Frogs. David loved spending time with his grand kids and even got them into music. The music played today was selected by David. Rest easy now. David was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Betty and his brother Ken. David is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Susan. Son, David(Keith)& wife Tamara. Stepdaughter, Lisa & husband Ronnie. Grandsons, Dylan, Lucas and Jackson. Brother, Mickey and his family. David also had many cousins and friends.
