Ed lived a long and productive life. A proud veteran, he served in the Pacific during WWll and later joined the Texas Army National Guard, where he served for 35 years, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major with the 49th Armored Division.
After working 43 years for SW Bell, he retired and discovered a love of gardening. He became a Master Gardener for the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, volunteering tirelessly for 25 years, and was awarded the title of Emeritus Master Gardener. He loved helping people and had many friends who will miss his jokes and dry sense of humor.
Ed is survived by his wife of 69 years, Joetta Vaughan; two daughters, Sharon Schultz and Suzanne Ansley; son-in-law Frank Ansley; grandchildren Alicia Schultz and Adam Schultz; and great grandson Elijah Schultz.
