Obituary of Preston Clemons Snoga, Jr.

Preston Clemons Snoga, Jr., 77, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016. Service: 11:30 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Weatherford. Interment: 2:15 p.m. Thursday in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Preston was born October 7, 1938, in Galveston, Texas to Preston and Arda Snoga, Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the first completed supercarrier, the USS Forrestal. He was also a Texas Navy Admiral, and he also retired from the City of Dallas Sheriff’s Department. Preston was a dedicated Christian. He was a history buff, enjoyed woodworking, and collected model airplanes and ships. He also enjoyed going to his local Walmart where he knew many of the employees. He would often say, "If Walmart doesn't have it, we don't need it.” He never met a stranger, and he will be missed by many. Survivors: Wife, Yvonne "Augie" Snoga; daughter, Julie Donahew-Hegre and husband, Eric; grandchildren, Preston Donahew and Mia Donahew; son, Trey Snoga.
