Obituary of Richard Lee Minnich

Richard Lee Minnich, 80, moved to his Heavenly home on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Richard was born on May 10, 1935 in Allentown, PA to Paul and Evelyn Minnich. Richard had a varied and productive career after retiring from US Air Force in 1973. He earned a Criminal Justice degree from TCU and served as peace officer at TCU. He later served as a Tarrant County Adult Probation Officer and lastly running his own business providing construction inspection services for area banks. Richard's uplifting personality was a blessing to both friends and family, and he enjoyed bringing cheer to his fellow residents and staff at his Sunrise senior living center. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, carving wood ducks for decoys and was a long time member of Genesis United Methodist Church. Richard was from the “Greatest Generation” a true patriot, father, and faithful friend. Survivors: Sons, Brad Minnich and wife Emily, Greg Minnich and wife Julie, Rick Minnich and wife Susan; sister, Lois Collis; twin-brother, Dale Minnich; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in Florida. Richard was recently preceded in death by his older brother Don.
