My heart was very heavy when I learned that Chick had passed away. Chick and I worked together for many years from Lone Star Gas, TXU, and finally Atmos Energy. Although we were in different parts of the company through the years we had the opportunity to cross paths quite often. The last 7 years Chick and I were office very close together. We had the opportunity to collaborate on all kinds of project together. Chick never stopped amazing me in his expert knowledge and his willingness to always help out. Every morning when I walked in the office and got my coffee I waked by Chicks office headed to mine. As I walked by I would always say in a very audible tone "Chickerdoddle" and in his deep baritone voice he respond with "Maaaaaarrrrkkkkk" a memory I will always cherish. Chick was leader, he never raised his voice, he always had a smile and and was one of the most knowledgeable leaders on the floor. I did not have the opportunity to meet any of Chicks family and I know from my own experiences your hearts are heavy. I pray that God comforts you in this difficult and it's so hard for us to understand sometimes God plan for lives. In my mind God must have needed another "GOOD MARINE" in haven. One of my very good friends described Chick as "The Gentle Giant" and I could not have came with a better description. Tomorrow I will say in my very audible tone "Chickerdodle" in his hinor. I will miss you my friend but am happy that you touched so many people in a very positive way. You will live on through all of us you touched. May you rest in peace. Your Friend Marc Chapman

Back in the mid 1990's Chick offered me a contract position at Lone Star Gas to head up a GIS software development team that he wanted to put together. During the four years that I worked there, Chick treated me as one of the Lone Star family. We had many, many good times together there, talking, cutting up, going to breakfast or lunch, and of course we worked very hard on creating a great GIS mapping system. I will always be grateful for those times. He was always there if you needed something. He had a great sense of humor. His wit was amazing. Sara, I am so sorry for your loss. I will really miss Chick as well. - Danny Ringo
