Jacqueline Wharton, 66, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Memorial Service: 1 pm Monday, December 21, 2015, Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7611 Park Lane, Dallas. Memorials: A memorial fund will be established at Our Redeemer Lutheran School and will be accepting donations in her honor. Jackie was born on March 27, 1949 in London, England to Sidney (Mic) and Eileen Joyce (Joy) Wyatt. At age seven she moved with her family to Burgess Hill in West Sussex. Jackie graduated from the Bishop Otter College in Chichester, England which was regarded as one of the most successful teacher training colleges in the UK at the time. In the early 1970s, Jackie married Nicholas David Wharton and had 2 daughters, Sarah and Sonia. The family lived in West Sussex until they moved to Dallas in 1977. In 1984, Jackie moved with her daughters to Carrollton and began teaching at Our Redeemer Lutheran School. Jackie dedicated her life to teaching early childhood development and taught at Our Redeemer for over thirty years, retiring in May 2015. Her creative methods of teaching have positively impacted the lives of hundreds of young children. Jackie survived breast cancer in 1997 and always had an incredible strength and energetic spirit for living. She enjoyed her summer breaks from teaching to spend time in England, which she always considered home. Jackie was preceded in death by her father Sidney (Mic) George Henry Wyatt and brother Michael Wyatt. Survivors: Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Eileen Joyce (Joy) Wyatt and daughters, Sarah Wharton Long (married to Sean Long) who resides in Fort Worth, Texas and Sonia Wharton Duncan (married to Scott Duncan) who resides in Oakland, CA.
