Melissa Shawn Bates CLEBURNE -- Melissa Shawn Bates, 35, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2013. Service: 11 am Friday, Westhill Church of Christ, 1100 W Westhill, Cleburne. Visitation: 6 pm - 8 pm Thursday, Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Granbury Rd, Ft. Worth. Interment: Rose Hill Cemetery, Ft. Worth. Melissa was born on July 23, 1978 in Ft. Worth. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter and friend. Melissa aspired to have a career in Criminal Justice, and loved working with the elderly. She enjoyed movies, music and writing Poetry. Melissa was preceded in death by her brother, Christopher Weber. Survivors: Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Edward Bates, Cleburne; daughters, Autumn McKnight, Cresson, Summer Wiedebusch, Cleburne and Taylor Bates, Joshua; son, Austin Bates, Cleburne; mother, Shawn Kaiser, Ft. Worth; father, Ricki McKnight and wife Geri, Granbury; sister, Kasey McKnight, Granbury; brothers, Dustin Weber, Peoria, IL, Ricki McKnight, Jr and wife, Casey, Saginaw, Matt McKnight, Ft.
