Sherry Arlene Turner, 71, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on November 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of joy, resilience, and endless laughter. Sherry is preceded in death by husband of 29 years Billy Charles Crossland, and husband of 16 years, Rocky Turner, her brothers Tony and Bill Mays, her sister Connie Shukers, and father William Mays and mother Helen Shearman.
Sherry was born in Fort Worth, Texas to William Mays and Helen Shearman on March 9, 1953. Known for her ability to find the silver lining in every cloud, Sherry was the kind of person who could light up any room with her contagious laughter. She faced life’s challenges with a strength and humor that inspired all who knew her. Her laughter wasn’t just a sound—it was a gift that warmed the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
Sherry’s greatest happiness was found in the company of her loved ones, especially her cherished family. Sherry is survived by her sister Cathy and husband Randy Dorsett; her sister-in-laws Tina and Kathy Mays, her three daughters Barbara and husband Brent Draper, Missy and husband David Mckern, Nicole and husband Steven Rosario, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Sherry had a unique knack for giving funny little gifts that showed just how much she cared. She loved getting dressed up, her makeup and clothes always a reflection of her vibrant personality and passion for life.
Her memory will forever be held in the hearts of those who loved her. Sherry taught us all to laugh a little more, to find beauty in life’s small moments, and to cherish the people around us. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit will live on in the joy she brought to the world.
