Obituary of Robert Glenn Anderson
Robert Glenn Anderson passed away on Tuesday, January 16th at the age of 91.
Glenn was third of three children of Dewey and Lucy Anderson of Vidalia, Georgia. He attended Bacon County High School, where he was an accomplished student and athlete. After high school, he attended Emory University and served in the United States Air Force. He had a career at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia, where he met his wife of 64 years, Patricia Brown Anderson, and raised four children. Glenn retired in 1987 after many years as a dedicated civil servant. Years later, Pat and Glenn relocated to Texas to be near their sons and grandchildren. In recent years, they were also able to spend time in Massachusetts to be near their daughters and families. Glenn was a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather. Glenn was a gifted poet and an avid golfer. He was a faithful member of Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Danville, Georgia, and Old School Primitive Baptist Church in Kennedale, Texas.
He is predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Tyre and Joyce Douglas.
He is survived by children, Beth Likens and husband, Brian, of Alexandria, VA, Brad Anderson and wife, Caryn, of Colleyville, TX, Lisa Anderson and John Hogan of Middleton, MA, and Greg Anderson of Bedford, TX; grandchildren, Haley Likens Crossen and husband, Michael, Tess Likens Gavin and husband, Alexander, Brittan Anderson, Hannah Anderson, Kevin Anderson and Ellie Anderson; three great-grandchildren, Emmett, Lucy and James.
Visitation will be at Old School Primitive Baptist Church, 1075 N Little School Road, Kennedale TX on Saturday, January 27, from 12:30 to 1:00 pm. The service will follow at 1:00 pm.
