I am the oldest granddaughter of Betty Green. Joe was married to my grandmother for all of my childhood. My very best memories of Joe are spending time on the farm. He took my cousins, siblings and me for rides on the tractor, trucked across their property to restart the four wheelers that we weren’t strong enough to crank, and he let me drive his old van in the field when I was 11. In all the summers we spent there, I don’t know that he ever called me by my actual name. It was always “Blondie” or “Skinny Minnie”. It has been 23 years since my grandmother passed away, but the memories I have of those summers are some of my best. I’m so sorry for your loss and I wish you peace and comfort during this time. I imagine he’s up in heaven now smoking a cigar.
