Obituary of Jerry Ann Bowman

Jerry Ann Bowman, 83, passed away peacefully after a long illness. Jerry was born in Jefferson City, MO. In 1942, the family moved to Fort Worth. She and her older brother Gene, were both graduates of North Side High School. Jerry was an accomplished Equestrian, training and showing 5-gated horses. She taught riding lessons at the old Forest Park Stables and at Coburn Farms. She worked for the National Cutting Horse Association and was part of the original group that set up the Futurity that is still held in Fort Worth today. Jerry also worked for the American Quarter Horse Association and helped establish "The World Show" still being held every year. She loved showing obedience dogs with her daughter and friends for over 50 years. Her Dobermans and Whippets held a very special place her heart. She is survived by her daughter Denise Tatro and her husband, Harold from Crowley. Her sister in law, Shirley Byars of Dallas and her nephew Steve Byars and his wife, Bettie Jo of Flagstaff, AZ.
