Obituary of Ronald James Cole

Ronald James Cole, 75, of Euless went to be with the Lord on November 5, 2023. Ronnie, as many knew him, never met a stranger. He was loved and cherished deeply by many and although his life’s radius was small his community was large.

He was born on July 11, 1948, in Berea, Ohio and was a 1966 Graduate of Buckeye High School, Medina, Ohio. He entered the Army in May of 1968 and served valiantly in the Vietnam War as a rifleman, ranked Expert (M-60) Sharpshooter and was awarded several military recognitions including the Combat Infantryman Badge,  National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Ronnie moved to Texas admittingly to escape the cold of the north and served a dedicated 55 year tenure with American Airlines. He fathered two beautiful daughters, Christina Fox of Keller and Alina Martin of Weatherford and was a loving father figure to many more he called his “Pups”. He had 6 grandchildren who were the joy of his heart. He was a funny man, with a servant’s heart. He loved the Lord, and he loved his family. To know Ronnie Cole was to know a man who was a conqueror, of war, illness and so much more. He lived his days with gratitude and humility and made his mission to  insight joy in those he was around. He will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his Mother Julie M. Kocel and Father Clem J. Cole, he is survived by his daughters Christina Fox and Alina Martin and Husband Jesse Martin Sr., Stepdaughter Dee Saville, Grandchildren Teryn Schlote, Jesse Martin Jr., Gavin Fox, Abigail Martin, Madison Martin, and Jack Martin, Sister Cheryl Stone and husband Terry Stone of Ohio and Brothers Scott Haller and wife Derita Haller, Greg Haller and wife Sheri Haller of Florida. He is survived also by a large extended family and countless friends.

Services are open for all:

Interment: Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, with Military Honors, Friday, December 1, 2023, at 10:15 a.m., 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.

Celebration of Life at The Den, Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 12 - 4 p.m. 316 South Industrial Blvd., Euless, TX 76040. 

Please text Alina Martin to confirm attendance at the National Cemetery Service at 817-233-4499 as we are asked to join the ceremony as a single group. All are welcome, we look forward to your attending and joining us in an honorable send off for the greatest man.

Ronnie Cole gave back to numerous foundations to provide aid to his brothers in arms. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to The Wounded Warriors Foundation in his name.
