Obituary of Archa Ray Bunting
Mr. Archa Ray Bunting, 68, was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 3, 1955, to the proud parentage of Roy and Clara Bunting.
As a child he loved playing baseball. His mom said “Archa never got into any trouble. He was a gentle and obedient child.”
He received his formal education from the Chicago Independent School District and graduated from Wendell Phillips High School in Chicago, where he received his diploma and a trade certificate in 1973.
Archa was good with his hands and took up an interest in working on cars. There was not much of anything he could not fix on a vehicle. After graduation he began working with one of his older brothers, Jerry, at his tow trucking business for several years.
He later obtained his CDL and was employed in the trucking industry for over 30 years until his retirement in 2022.
In 1981, Archa became the proud father of a bouncing baby girl, Tara. He affectionately nicknamed her “Nug”. She was his pride and joy. During her childhood they were an inseparable daddy and daughter duo. He took pride in being the best father.
He married Florence Reese Bunting and they remained devoted until her passing in 2014.
On August 31, 2023, Archa received his wings in Mansfield, Texas shortly after relocating to Texas, to be closer to his daughter Tara, Mother, and grandchildren.
He will reunite with his father, Roy Bunting, as well as his two brothers, Alfred and Juarez Bunting.
Those left to cherish his precious memory are his, loving mother Clara M. Bunting; loving daughter, Tara Haley (Juan); brother, Roy Bunting (Felicia Hall); sister, Trina Ratliff (Victor); grandchildren, Zion Hardy, Christian, Faith, Laneisha; and a host of other family and dear friends.
