Candy Harwell, 65, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 31, 2014, The Church of the Holy Apostles, 3900 Longvue Ave., Fort Worth, Texas, 76126.
Candy was born to L.D. Butler and Gloria Reid Butler on February 21, 1949 in Dermott, Arkansas. As a child she moved to Fort Worth with her mother and step-father, Zack T. Wood. In 1967, she graduated from Arlington Heights High School, and then worked in various retail positions before she found her true calling and became a residential realtor. Candy worked for many years as a realtor in southwest area of Fort Worth. She was highly regarded by both her clients and co-workers for her dedication, loyalty, honesty, and integrity in all her real estate dealings.
Candy loved cheering on her Dallas Cowboys, betting on the ponies at Lone Star Park, and she never met a gaming casino she didn't like. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. "I got you and you got me." I'm really gonna miss you, babe.
Candy was preceded in death by her parents and step-father.
Survivors: Husband, Jess; sons, Kevin Holmes (Mary Alice) and Brian Shattuck; sisters, Shelley Wood Walker (Mike), Frederica Wood (Pam) and Tracey Wood Mince (David); brother, Roy Wood; and several nieces and nephews; she is also survived by her beloved grandson, Will Holmes.
