Robert (Bob) O. James, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died on March 9, 2023.

Burial: Cremated ashes will be interred in a niche at First Presbyterian columbarium at a later date.

Robert O. James was born July 28, 1928, in South Amboy, New Jersey. He attended Seton Hall University in New Jersey and received his BA degree from Texas Christian University.

Mr. James served in the Air Force from 1950-1955, with duty in Labrador, and Ft. Wolters, TX. In this short time, he was promoted to Staff Seargeant. His assignment at Ft. Wolters was Supply Officer and after fulfilling his time in service he became Civilian Supply Officer, then Director of Personnel for the contractor Southern Airways ath the U.S. Helicopter School at Ft. Wolters from 1955-1960.

Upon receiving his degree from TCU in 1960, Mr. James moved his family to Ft. Worth, where he became Director of Human Resources for Howell Instruments from 1960 until his retirement in December 1986.

His interests were: extensive travel, tennis, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his constant companion - Sassy! Travels included many countries in Europe, New Zealand, Australia, South America, Canada, numberous Caribbean Islands, and all U.S States but four. His favorites being the Florida beaches, and ANY mountain! Bob especially enjoyed exposing his grandchildren to travel adventures: their first flights, and first trips "away from home"!

Mr. James' retirement years were spent enjoying his great love of reading, maintaining his beautiful flower gardens/yard, crossword and Sudoku puzzles.

Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Mildred James; the mother of his children, Maedean James; and his son, David James.

He is survived by his wife Velma of 43 1/2 years, sons and wives Gary & Judy James of Corinth, and Jimmy & Jeannine James of Perrin, daughter-in-law Monica James, grandchildren Tahwana Zavala, Brandie James, Kenneth Riley, Jessica Tucker, Robin Anderson, Kelly James, Brian Pierce and Amy Donnelly, along with 18 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
