Obituary of James Burrell Walker

James B. (Jim) Walker was born in Mineral Wells, Texas to the late Karl A. and Ivy White Walker on March 23. 1934. He passed away on September 13, 2022, at home in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 88.

He graduated Mineral Wells High School and attended North Texas University. Jim worked as a DA Civilian Manpower Analysist in the D.C. area until retiring in 1994, then moved to Fort Worth and continued ranching in Palo Pinto Co. He was an active member of South Hills Christian Church, serving as a deacon and elder, and singing in the choir. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. As a talented carver, he gave away bears, angels, and birds.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Taylor Walker, his high school sweetheart. Also surviving are two sons, James Jesse (Jimmy) and wife Mary Beth, Stephen Taylor (Steve) and wife Mirna; grandchildren, Andrew S. and Mary Walker, Cecilia J. (Cici) and Logan Fritts, Aaron Taylor Walker and family, Ruby Taylor Walker, and Jaqueline Torres; great-grandchildren, Addie, Samuel, Clair, and Lawrence Walker, Maddie Hudson, and Ainsley Fritts.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Pauline Thomas, Afton Bullington, Karl W., Bobby, and Donald Walker.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Mineral Wells. Memorial Service will be at South Hills Christian Church in Fort Worth at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 17th.
