Obituary of Reymundo Rocha Olivas

Reymundo Rocha Olivas "Buckle King" passed away at the age of 73 in Fort Worth, Texas on May 14, 2015 due to diabetes related complications. Born June 19, 1941 to Silverio and Eloisa Olivas in Dallas, Texas, the youngest of six children. Rey graduated from North Dallas High School and also graduated from Texas Instruments in Dallas with an associate's degree in electrical engineering. Rey was a talented singer and musician His music career took him all over the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada. That was "another lifetime" as he would say. He returned home to Texas and spent time in Dallas, San Antonio and Fort Worth. Rey was proud of his business ventures since the mid to late '80s including a custom casting and design company that earned him the title "Buckle King of San Antonio". Rey enjoyed playing golf and fishing. The first thing that most would recall when thinking of Rey was how quick he was to laugh and his ability to make others laugh with him. He was a man that brought a lot of joy with him and touched many people's lives. Rey Olivas is survived by all four of his children, Katrina Hulse, Daniel Olivas, Amanda Rambo and Amie Straley as well as his sister Alice Barrientos and his brother Genaro Olivas and five grandchildren. He is at rest with his Father and Mother, his brother Albert, and sisters Connie Burke and Rachel Franco.
