Obituary of Larry Denton

Larry Denton, 85, beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, died June 19th, 2015 in Bedford, TX.
Memorial Service: 6 pm, July 18th at the Kerrville First United Methodist Church.
Larry was born in Collbran, CO, and grew up in Hotchkiss, CO. He lettered in four different sports at Hotchkiss High earning a total of 12 letters. He joined the Air Force out of high school where he served as an aircraft technician. After finishing his service, he attended The Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO, graduating with a Petroleum Engineering degree and starring on the football team as a running back.
Larry joined Mobil Oil after graduating and worked for them for 42 years starting in Hobbs, NM, and then working in Texas, England, Norway, Indonesia, and Scotland. He and his wife of 57 years, Peggy, retired in Kerrville, TX in 1991, where they enjoyed many rounds of golf, hosting family holiday get-togethers and as active members of the Kerrville First United Methodist Church.
Larry was preceded in death by his wife Peggy and his brother Bill.
Survivors: Five children, Karen and Gary Ray of Pleasanton, Mike and Johanna Denton of Houston, Pat and Darla Denton of Southlake, Kevin and Nara Denton of Weston, FL, and Randy Denton of Steamboat Springs, CO; ten grandchildren; brother, Roy Denton of Lodi, CA; and sister-in-law, Marge Denton, of Dallas.
