James McGowan, 86, passed away Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015.
Service: Memorial gathering: 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at VFW 9190, 5001 Old Denton Rd., Fort Worth. Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at St. Charles Catholic Church, 3422 Dennison Ave., Drexel Hill, Pa.
James was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Clifton Heights, Pa., to Emmett and Alice McGowan. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. James retired as a master sergeant E8 from the United States Army after 22 years. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW.
Survivors: Wife, Barbara McGowan; children, Donald McGowan, Brenda Romine and husband, Richard, Mary Frances Moss and husband, Ed, Shirley McGowan, and Brian McGowan and wife, Jasmine; sister, Patti Mauger; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
