Obituary of JoAnn Mitchell

JoAnn Mitchell, 79, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.

Graveside Service: 12:00 p.m. Friday, Apr 15, Cedar Hill Memorial Park, 8301 US Hwy 287, Arlington, TX 76001. 

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Apr 14, Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76133.

JoAnn was born August 29, 1942 in Fort Worth, Texas, to the parentage of Ernest and Hazel Hardrick. She attended the Fort Worth ISD public schools, and was a graduate of the historic I.M. Terrell High School. At an early age, she professed Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior.

She met Zachary Mitchell, and the two were united in Holy Matrimony in November 1958, and to this union one  daughter was born.

She retired from the Arlington ISD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Hazel Mitchell.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her devoted husband of 63 years, Zachary Mitchell; daughter, Debra Mitchell-Edwards and husband Gerard Wayne; two grandchildren, Cedric (Lathisia) and Shawnta; one brother, Ernest Hardrick, Jr.; one sister, Joyce Mitchell; five great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
