Arlene was born on January 24, 1948, to Charles and Ruth Swann in Akron, Ohio. The family later moved to Florida, where she attended Evans High School and joined the swim team.

She met her husband and love of her life, Edward Lewis Gray, Jr. and the two were married on August 11, 1966, in Florida. Arlene was a proud mother and took pride in being a housewife and caring for her family.

After raising her family, she went back to school attending Tarrant County College. She worked hard and made the Dean’s List and earned a scholarship to Texas Wesleyan College where she furthered her education for two semesters.

From an early age, Arlene was an avid reader, it was one of her favorite hobbies. Her reading totaled thousands of books including fiction and non-fiction books from religious authors, biblical theology, psychology, as well as various other novels and science fiction. Her other hobbies included knitting and crocheting, oil painting, and she was a wonderful cook and baker.

Out of all her many accomplishments, she was most proud of being a witness for Christ, especially in her adult life. She studied several styles of witnessing for Christ, but her favorite was sharing her testimony and Evangelism Explosion to al who would listen.

While our hearts ache that Arlene is no longer with us, we rejoice in knowing that she is with her Heavenly Father and take comfort knowing we will see her again one day.
