Obituary of Frances Mae Frazier
Frances Mae Frazier “Fran”, aka Grandy, 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and love on Dec. 10, 2021. She was born to Louis and Orelia Roberts in New Roads LA. She met the love of her life Alvin “Dad” in high school and their love story took flight after they graduated. Their love story spanned continents, distance, 20 years of military service, and time. “Little Momma” (as Dad would call her ) would also say how quickly those 50 years flew by and she hoped for 50 more.
Their union produced her most prized accomplishment her five children that provided her with many opportunities to laugh, minister and lead. Every year her kids were home Fran would create the consummate New Year’s Rockin Eve Party featuring her amazing her Creole cooking (please don’t ask for her Gumbo recipe!). And, Fran did love a good family party - she was known to remind the grandkids “pour me one”, “fill it to the top” or, “Where’s mine” with that mischievous glint in her eye. She always put FAMILY FIRST - she enjoyed family trips that included a number of cruises, numerous trips domestic and abroad, and staying in touch with family and friends with her coveted flip phone.
Her great grandkids gave her a second lease on life. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them, they brought her endless and immense joy and comfort.
Frances’ wisdom, wit, strength, stubbornness, vivaciousness, beautiful soul, gentleness was amazing to behold while she was with us and will be truly missed now that she has decided to be reunited with Dad in heaven.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Angelina, and grandson Alvin J. jr. She is survived by her children Alvin J, Dana, Darnell, Derek, Duane; grandchildren Shannon, Thomas, Emily, John, Rachel, Michelle, Joan, Theodore, Simon, Phoenix, Barron, Simone and Mikey; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
