Obituary of Robby Edward Ervin
Please share a memory of Robby to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robby Ervin, 65, surrendered himself to God’s call on Friday, the 22nd of October 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was the loving husband of Chenitha “Ashley” Ervin, and they shared fourteen years of marriage and a lifetime of joy together.
On September 15, 1956, Robby was born in Sulfur, Oklahoma to Maurice and Ann Ervin, the eldest of three dynamic siblings. After relocating with his family to Fort Worth, Robby graduated from Everman High School and went on to found Ervin Shoe Repair, the beloved and renowned community staple in which he diligently served his locales of Everman, Bedford, Hurst, and Fort Worth for over forty years.
A faithful Christian and pillar of the Highland Hills community, Robby was a member of East Saint Paul Baptist Church in his youth and attended The Potter’s House of Fort Worth in his later years. He enjoyed listening to his world-class collection of jazz and soul albums and hosting warm socials with his longtime friends and family in the familiar comfort of his home.
Robby will especially be remembered for his enduring love of the Dallas Cowboys. You could catch him after church on any given Sunday cheering their first downs and touchdowns with joyful passion. His witty one-liners and classic way of singing song lyrics just in advance of the singer’s voice would send his children into deep laughter and recognition of how blessed they were to bask in the ease and light of their Pop.
Among the survivors left to cherish his memory and celebrate his homecoming are: wife, Ashley Ervin; four children, Jashon Ervin (Brandi), Brian Ervin, Robben Ervin, and Carmen Ervin; stepson, Lindsey Ross (Kortney); nephew, Antwon Ervin; and six grandchildren, Myles Ervin, Tashiana Scott, Niya Ervin, Jayden Ervin, Auria Ervin, and Yazarah Ervin-Capo-Chichi. He was predeceased by his parents, Maurice Ervin and Ann Ervin and his siblings, Dennis Ervin and Julia Ervin.
