Don Morris Taylor, 91, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2021. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgewood Dr., Fort Worth, Texas 76133. The memorial service will be live streamed at the time of the service at: https://www.facebook.com/thompsonfuneralhome Don was born on February 2, 1930 in Fort Worth, Texas to Emma Irene and Odie Byron Taylor. He attended Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth, and after high school, he served in the United States Marine Corps, where he qualified as a licensed radiotelephone operator. After service in the Marines, he worked in several occupations, most notably as a Fort Worth police officer and numerous other law enforcement agencies, until his retirement at age 85 from Precinct 4, Tarrant County Constable's Office. Don loved motorcycles, horses, hunting, fishing, and was an avid gardener. Most of all, Don was a true Patriot and loved serving people. Don was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Sue (Taylor) Gilliland. Survivors: daughter, Donna (Taylor) Barnickel and husband Chris; son, Robert Taylor and wife Mary; sister, Jeannie (Taylor) Humphries and husband John; brother, Robert Dean Taylor; granddaughter, Shaune (Barnickel) Southern and husband Tim; grandson, David Barnickel and wife Natalie; granddaughter, Stephanie Taylor, granddaughter, Sybil (Taylor) Brun and husband Brian; great-grandsons, Isaac and Wyatt Southern; great-granddaughters, Natalie and Emma Brun.
