Obituary of James Raymond Romig

Jim Romig, age 74, passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Jim was born on July 1, 1947 in Brownwood, Texas to Ray and Wanda Romig. He was a 1965 graduate of Brownwood High School and attended The University of Texas at Austin until 1966, when he was drafted into the army and served for two years. He later met the love of his life, Terrie Lewis, daughter of H.C. and Jodie Lewis. They married in August of 1971 and moved to Mineral Wells, TX where Jim took over the management of Gibsons. He later opened Jimbo’s West Texas Cafe where he enjoyed cooking and serving the community with his wonderful meals. At the same time, he co-owned Saturday Nite, Inc and the Pinto Inn. In 1996, Terrie passed away after almost 25 years of marriage and Jim went into Texas Bar Control Systems where he continued to enjoy working in the Bar and Restaurant industry. Jim loved his family and friends along with cooking, entertaining, reading and summers at the beach.
Survivors include his son, Adam Romig of Denton, grand children Dashiell and Grace. Daughter Tiffany Way and husband Todd Way of Grapevine, granddaughter Ashlyn. Brother Peter Romig and wife Evelyn of Brownwood and brother Russel Romig and wife Robin of Grapevine.
