David Wayne Hunter, 73, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 30 at New Life Fellowship Church, 128 College Park Dr., Weatherford, Texas 76086 Service: 1 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at the church. David was the oldest of four children born to the parentage of Wayne and Sammie Hunter in Fort Worth, Texas on January 9, 1948. He was a graduate of the R.L. Pascal High School and served in the United States Armed Forces from 1966-1969. He was stationed in Vietnam from 1967-1969 and was the recipient of the Bronze Star; National Defense Service Medal; Parachute Badge; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal; and the Army Commendation Medal and served in the 501 Bat. and the 101st Airborne Division. David married his high school Sweetheart on December 31, 1966 He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Phillip A. Hunter. He leaves to cherish his precious memory, a devoted and loving wife, Dorretta Day Hunter; son, Wesley B. Hunter and wife April, son, Timothy D. Hunter and wife April; daughter, Tammy D. Cave and husband John; two sisters, Elizabeth Ross and husband Jerry, Denise Day and husband Hubert; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a lot of step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
