Obituary of James Austin Gamblain, II
Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
James (Jim) Austin Gamblain II, 52, passed away peacefully at his Fort Worth home Tuesday, July 27 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband and father, an avid whip maker and motorcycle rider.
Jim was born July 15, 1969, to James and Mary Gamblain. He attended Paschal High School and went on to become a skilled dog trainer after which he earned his degree as an aircraft mechanic. In later life he hung up his wrenches to hit the open road as a truck driver.
Anyone who knew Jim knew his flair for the dramatic and elaborate storytelling, so it’s no surprise that he had more than 150 performances in the Rocky Horror Picture Show under his belt, playing every character except Rocky because “I didn’t look good in gold lamé speedos”. He was a larger-than-life character, and he will be fondly missed.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Kristyn Gamblain; his children, Austin and Samantha; his stepchildren, Annabelle and Noa; his future daughter-in-law, Monica; his in-laws, Dennis and Caryl, his siblings, Cheryl, Patty, Candace, Stephanie, Steven, and Christine; his thirteen nieces and nephews; as well as his brother- and sister-in-law, Raymond and Roxanne. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
May he rest in peace.
A heartfelt thank you for all the messages, calls, and kind words.
