Obituary of Vernon Dee Batey, Jr.

Vernon Dee Batey passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at his home in Fort Worth after a battle with cancer.
Proceeded in death by his Mother, Kathleen Thornton Batey.
His father Vernon Batey, Sr. lives in California with his younger brother Jay and his children Charlotte and Kyle; his middle brother Chris Batey lives in Cleburne with his son Sean Batey, his wife Juanita and daughter Taylor.
Vernon is survived by his wife Carolynne and Ex-Wife Beatrice.
Vernon and Bea had three children Son, Troy and his wife Crystal and three children Tristan, Trinity, and Tucker. Daughter Tara and her husband Chris Vaughn and their two sons, Jett and West; and youngest son Travis, all of Fort Worth.
Vernon has 4 step-children, daughter April and Husband Benny and their children Kinzy and Fiance William; Kiea and her husband Jordan, Adrianna and Nathan. Daughter Sonia and her husband Garrett and their children Kory, Selah and her partner Marcus, Rachelle, Madison, McKenzee, Kaylee, Shannon and his children Travis, Noah, Kendall, Gage, and Shane and Kristy and Great-Grandson Rowan, all of Fort Worth.
Vernon graduated from R.L. Paschal in Fort Worth. Vernon was an orthopedic tech and loved his work; he was great at it. He also loved the outdoors, camping, cooking, Nascar, listening to his favorite music, star gazing and watching the weather change. Vernon also loved his little dog, Smokey, who was his protector. Vernon also loved all his children and grandchildren very much.
Vernon and Carolynne were married for 17 years and were together for over 18. When Vernon became ill his wife, Carolynne cared for him; doctor’s appointments, surgeries, hospital stays, she was there every step of the way. Even after a long shift at the hospital Carolynne was never too tired to care for Vernon.
Vernon will be missed by all his family and friends, but his memory will be kept alive by all who knew him.
