Obituary of Molly Hutchinson

Please share a memory of Molly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Molly Lawhon Berrien Hutchinson, 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends Feb. 28. Daughter of Clara and Clifford Berrien, Molly was born in Borger, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas where she met and married her husband John F. Hutchinson, M.D. Upon John’s graduation from UT Medical School, they moved to Fort Worth with their three daughters and son in 1960. Molly loved her adopted city and had a servant’s heart, never saying “No” when anyone asked for help. She was just as happy being a teammate or a leader. Among the many organizations she served were First Presbyterian Church, Chi Omega, Medical Auxiliary, Junior League, Planned Parenthood and many PTAs. Molly was an avid Texas Longhorns football fan and loved wearing the burnt orange. She had lifelong friends with whom she enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, snow skiing, and lots of good food and wine! And, of course, she was never without a precious dog. Her greatest legacy is how passionately she treated others with love and kindness. She was a friend, mother and grandmother to all. Molly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son John Hutchinson, grandson Jonathon Gordon, and sister Adelaide Fisher. She is survived by daughters Karen Gordon, Claudia Hutchinson and Marietta Collins, son-in- laws Jim Gordon and Don Collins; beloved grandchildren Molly and Katy Collins; Sarah, Claire, Emily and Mark Gordon; great grandchildren Meredith, Henry and Mira Moore; sister June Kaderli of Fredericksburg, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. There will not be a public service. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church, FPCFW.org/give 1000 Penn St., Fort Worth, Texas 76102, and the Chi Omega Foundation, 3395 Players Club Parkway, Memphis, TN 38125.
