Obituary of Rittie Wayne Milliman, Sr.

Rittie Wayne “Rit” Milliman Sr, 67, went to be with Jesus on February 15th, 2021, with his wife and children by his side in Burleson, Texas. A memorial service will be held Saturday February 27th, 2021 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at Victory Family Church in 455 NW John Jones Dr., Burleson, TX 76028. Visitation will be observed on Saturday, February 27th, 2021 from noon until the time of services. Interment will follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Rit was born November 6th, 1953 in Haskell, Texas to Nathan and Patsy Milliman. He was a Cajun cowboy who grew up helping his grandparents, Rittie Weldon and Estebelle Turnbow, on their farm in Haskell, Texas. His family relocated to Lafayette, Louisiana where he graduated from Lafayette High School. In 1980, Rit married the love of his life, Sheri Skipworth, in Fort Worth, Texas. Rit has 7 children and 9 grandchildren. He was a successful business man with many years of varied experience in the oil and gas industry. He traveled internationally on the job for many years in the middle east, Switzerland, and Azerbaijan. His greatest hearts desire, after the Lord, was to spend time with Sheri and all of his children and grandchildren. Rit had such a father’s heart. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help those in need. Rit was an avid fan of all the local sports teams. Rit enjoyed going to baseball games with his sons and making memories with his family. Rit is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheri Milliman; mother Patsy Ann Milliman; brother Nathan Milliman, Jr. and wife Jennifer Jo; sister Trish Knight and husband Mark; sister Pam Nagata; son Jeffry Milliman and wife Edna; daughter Jennifer Milliman; son Rittie Wayne Milliman, Jr. and wife Jamie ; daughter Kayce Cole and husband Kevin; daughter Jourdan McCord and husband Trey; son Andrew Milliman and wife Ashley; son Daniel Milliman and wife Laynee; niece Laura Johnson and husband Nick; and 9 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Rit was preceded in death by his father Nathan “Cotton” Milliman Sr and his brother Vic Layne Milliman.
