Obituary of Daniel Brian Blackwell
Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Daniel Brian Blackwell born October 25, 1955 in Fort Worth, Texas. Died December 31, 2020 Burleson, Texas.
Son of Ralph C. Blackwell and Peggy Kiper. Danny grew up in Burleson, Texas was a 1974 graduate of Burleson High and remained until his marriage to Anita Blair in June 1976.
They began their life together in Haltom City, Texas and later moved the family to Burleson. Danny worked with and learned from his parents how to build homes building many of the finer custom homes in Fort Worth as Traditional Builders, Inc. and then struck out on his own as Danny Blackwell Construction. In 2000 Danny narrowed his field and expanded his expertise in HVAC, he then pursued and enjoyed a career with Pratt & Whitney’s DARO Unit. After 17 years of dedicated service among colleagues and friends, he retired in July 2020.
Danny and Anita had three children Steven Daniel (m. Dema), Valerie Kay (m. Chris Behney), and Kevin Blair (m. Nicole).
Danny defied his diagnosis of Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer in June 2018 and was able to see his youngest son get married in October 2018 and to hold his latest grandson in November 2019. Along with riding his motorcycle, driving his boat on Lake Whitney, and sliding down snow-covered slopes Danny continued to do what he had enjoyed all his life. What he loved best was his 5 grandsons; as DanPaw he gave the best “knuckles” and made the best Krispie Treats. With a quick wit, an engaging smile, and a twinkle in his eye, Danny liked most people he met. Always ready to help, and the man with answers, he was the first many people called to lend a hand. To say he will be missed is inadequate. No one can fill his shoes.
To celebrate Danny’s life we will gather at Joe T. Garcia’s Los Portales patio, January 16, 2020 from 1-3.
Danny is survived by wife, Anita, of 44 1/2 years, children, and brothers Ralph C. Blackwell and Ronald W. Blackwell (m. Renee), his Aunt Sally Wyche, his mother-in-law Ann Blair and brother-in-law Bill Blair (m. Sheryl) and precious grandsons Jaxon, Truman, Tyrus, Trenton, and Wesley. Good friends Andy Eller, Brian Cloonen, Grant and Marla Holland. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and so many more friends.
