Patricia and her identical twin sister, Marie, were inseparable when they were young.… they frequently, wore the same attire and therefore, no one could tell them apart… they attended Jefferson Davis High School in Houston and were baton twirling majorettes and very talented “big band era” jitterbug dancers.
Patricia met her husband, C. J. Shanklin (SHANK) at Texas International Airlines in Houston, TX where they both worked…. They both enjoyed raising their 4 children on their “Shanklin’s Silver Spur Pony Farm” large ranch in Alvarado, TX. Patsy was secretary of the “POA” horse association and she made handmade authentic indian customs for the whole family to wear for participation in Horse Parades and POA Horse Shows all over the U.S., which earned numerous awards…
Later, Pat and Shank moved the “Shanklin’s Silver Spur Pony Farm” to Colleyville, Texas. Pat and Shank designed and built their new home and barn for the horses and always took pride in tending to smaller ranch .. Pat and Shank had "his and her riding lawnmowers" and she especially, enjoyed mowing their 4 acres. ( However, Shank got tired of rescuing Patsy from her frequent high speed lawnmower mishaps !)
Patsy (lovingly called Patsy) was a beautiful and dedicated Mom and wife. Pat was also an avid movie lover---- especially old classics like, “Pippi Long Stockings,” and “Gone with the Wind.” She prided herself on knowing the names of a lot of movie stars, and she loved politics, music (especially, the big band era,) and her family!
More recently at Dancing Rivers, Patsy also enjoyed herself…... everyone knew her name, and she was always the first to lead everyone in all the classic songs, she attended all the parties there, excelled at trivia, always won the bingo games, and she always waved to all. Patsy was very much loved by her family and friends….. Patsy the “Queen” will be missed by all!
Blue Skies and Tailwinds forever! God Bless Patsy!
