Please share a memory of Becky to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Becky Sue (Lyman) Saueressig was born on October 8, 1943, to Helen Katherine (Cantrell) and Herbert Benedict Lyman, Sr. in Burlington, Kansas, and met Jesus face to face on October 26, 2020. Becky graduated from Burlington High School in 1961 and married Gary Saueressig that same year. They lived in Burlington until moving to a farm outside Williamsburg, Kansas, in 1976. In 1992, they divorced and Becky moved to Ottawa, Kansas, where she loved teaching elementary school students for 20 years. Upon retirement, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas. Becky was a life long lover of music and young people. While living in Burlington, she directed a choir called the Jesus Now Singers and enjoyed sharing those memories. Her calling was to encourage and teach younger children. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely. She was a great competitor in Settlers of Catan and loved watching Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. The family would like to express deepest thanks to all who prayed for and showed Becky how much she was loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Herbert Lyman, Jr., and infant sister, Juanita Lyman. She is survived by her twin sister, Linda (Lyman) Barrett (Troy) of Burlington, Kansas, her three children, David Saueressig of Mission Viejo, California, Susan Saueressig of Fort Worth, Texas, and Carol (Saueressig) Hofford (Josh) of Fort Worth, Texas, and her five grandchildren, Rachel (Saueressig) Oblouk (Austin) of Irvine, California, Jacob Saueressig (Maria) of Seattle, Washington, Samuel Hofford, Madeline Hofford and Asher Hofford, all of Fort Worth, Texas. If desired, a memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org), American Stroke Association (stroke.org) or the Spina Bifida Association (spinabifidaassociation.org).
