Billy Gene Sheffield, 78, passed from this life and into the arms of his Savior on Friday, March 20, 2020.
Billy was born on October 14, 1941, in Old Boston Texas to Willie Sheffield and Fannie Irene Smith Sheffield. He attended Bennington school in Oklahoma. Billy proudly served in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth Christeen Bleedsoe, on June 10, 1966 in Durant Oklahoma. They eventually made their home in Fort Worth Texas where they raised their son Donald.
Billy was a good provider for his family working as a truck driver for over 40 years, it was his passion. He retired in 2011, and then was able to enjoy his gardening and fishing. He was a gentle man, very kind and thoughtful and independent. He was one that was always willing to help. Billy enjoyed his quiet time watching TV. Old westerns were some of his favorites, he could tell you anything you need to know about all the characters. He also kept up with the news and the stock market, he enjoyed informing Donald of what the fuel prices were on a daily basis. He loved his siblings, and enjoyed his fishing trips with his brother Alvin. He will be greatly missed by all.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth Sheffield; daughter, Charlotte Pierce and her husband Jerry Pierce; brother, William Sheffield; and Sister, Haddie Kessler.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his son, Donald Sheffield and wife Vonda Moulder; grandson, Jesse Pierce and wife Nicky; children, Jackson and Greysyn; sisters, Lottie Buffalo, Patsy Luton, Wanda McAlester; brothers, Travis Sheffield, Virgal Sheffield, Alvin Sheffield, Jerry Sheffield, Gary Sheffield; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Billy’s life visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, 6009 Wedgwood Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76133.
Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery 7301 E Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76112.
