George William Estep, 84, passed away on Monday, November 25th, 2019 at his home in Fort Worth, Texas.
A family service was held on November 27th, 2019 at Martin Thompson & Son Funeral Home, Fort Worth, TX, followed by a public memorial service held at The Waterford of Fort Worth.
George William Estep was born in St. Albans, West Virginia to Shirley Don Estep and Mana Zenith Estep on April 17, 1935. He graduated from St. Albans High School. He received an accounting degree from Morris Harvey College, now the University of Charleston, while working as an auditor for Union Carbide for many years. After retiring from Union Carbide, he worked as a Louisiana state bank examiner for 10 years.
He was a proud veteran and served in the US Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
He was very passionate about golf and was a member of the Chateau Golf and Country Club for many years. His most recent passion was singing and karaoke. He loved singing Elvis songs and gospel music and he felt he was serving the Lord in a great way by singing to anyone who would listen. He even auditioned for the X-Factor at the age of 78. His favorite topics of conversation were memories with his children, religion, sports, and of course politics.
George William Estep is preceded in death by his father, Shirley Don Estep and mother Mana Zenith Estep.
George William Estep is survived by his wife Betty Courtney Estep, of Land O Lakes, Florida; his son, G.W. Estep II and wife Lisa, of Fort Worth, TX; his daughter, Gina Estep Landry, of Prairieville, LA; his son, Kevin Estep and wife Jill, of Van Buren, AR, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also, his brother Joseph Estep of David, Panama.
