Jerry Donavan Dodson of Fort Worth, TX passed away peacefully on Father’s Day, June 16, 2019 in the presence of those who loved him the most.

Services will be held at The Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211 on July 19th at 1:30 p.m.

Jerry was born on June 1st, 1939 in Albany, Texas. He was an accomplished singer, a father, a grandfather, a brother and was a friend to anyone who met him. Jerry proudly served his country in the ARMY and was a patriot until the end. He was stationed in Germany during his service and received an honorable discharge in 1963. Jerry was one half of a harmony duo called “Rob and Roy” and achieved a spot on the Top 40 in 1961 with their recording of a Paul Anka tune called, “It Doesn’t Matter Anymore” and recorded several other singles that were loved and enjoyed at family gatherings throughout his life. Jerry was an avid carpenter and builder. Over his lifetime he was revered for his beautiful cabinetry finish work and hand-built family heirlooms. Jerry loved the Dallas Cowboys, his family and sugar with black coffee more than anything in this world.

He is survived by his 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and extended family in Albany and Midland, Texas. He is remembered with love by his daughter, Bridgette Thomas and husband Bill Thomas along with children Austin Lee and Jessica Lynn of Navarre, Florida. His daughter Angela Dodson of Bedford, Texas. His son Eric Donovan Dodson, wife Kelly Wellington Dodson and their son Ellis Donovan Dodson of Fort Worth.
