James Edward Borden better known as Jim to his friends and family was born on May 2nd in Chicago Illinois to Stanly Perry Borden and Esther Viola Knock. The youngest of 3 kids, Jim enjoyed water skiing at the family’s cabin Knockwood, playing drums with his Highschool band Purple Haze, and his pet Pug named Wrinkles. Jim Graduated with a bachelors in Telecommunicative Arts from Iowa State. He met the love of his life in Terri Sue Klocke and they were married on September 20th, 1980. TerriSue gave Jim two wonderful Children Emily and Eric.

Jim worked at Channel 5 where he was rewarded with four regional Emmys and several promotions. Although Jim ended up in a leadership and operations role at Channel 5, his love was always directing, and he was extremely proud of his work on the live televised showings of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Christmas Special.  Additionally, he was a large advocate of the Channel's involvement in the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Telethon, and considered his involvement with that group a rewarding labor of love. After his time with Channel 5 had reached an end, Jim moved more into the role of a freelancer before eventually accepting a job managing Texas Hall at UTA while simultaneously continuing his freelance work. If you had to ask Jim what of all his accomplishments and promotions was his favorite, he would have responded his promotion on January 24th, 2007 with the birth of his first Grandchild. It was then that he was promoted from Dad to Grandpa. Jim found joy and peace in the smiles of his four grandchildren, Rowen, Seamus, Lexi and Rory Lou with a fifth arriving in June. Jim will always be remembered for his joy, laughter and Christian heart. We find comfort in knowing that he is in heaven sitting at the Lord's Table.
