Obituary of Sharon Eileen Mills
Sharon Eileen Mills, 78, a devout Christian, went to her reward on November 16, 2018.
Sharon was born on August 10, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas to Nettie Eileen Bodiford and Osman Sylvester Locklear Jr. She dearly loved her step father Owen Harold Link who raised her from age 9.
She loved to create things; painting, drawings, music, stories, clothes, and anything else she thought worthwhile. She didn’t enjoy cooking except for fudge, but “I would be a great cook if I wanted to, I am just not interested in that!”
She was fiercely promotive and protective of family and friends, even when we didn’t deserve it. Never said a bad word about anyone. She deeply missed her sister Sandra who passed away earlier this year.
She is a descendant of war heroes, French and English royalty, the very first European settlers, western pioneers, early aviators (male and female), barnstormers, movie stars, and the Lumbee Tribe; and the very best parts of that heritage showed in every facet of her character.
Survivors: Husband, Gilbert Mills; sons, David and wife Shari, Casey and wife Teresa, and Derek; 5 grand Children, 2 great Grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
