Obituary of Larry Don Allen

Larry Don Allen, known to many friends and family as Shottie, passed away in Weatherford, Texas on May 18, 2018, at age 74. Larry was born on June 21, 1943, in Caney, Oklahoma to the late Mary Etta Seale and the late Samuel Cleburn Allen.

Friends and family members are invited to attend a memorial service, officiated by Alan Bartlett, on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Anchor Baptist Church, 4298 Armory Rd, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76302. Flowers sent will be accepted at Anchor Baptist Church on Saturday morning, the day of the memorial.

Larry attended high school in Wichita Falls Texas. He also lived and worked most of his adult life in or near Wichita Falls, as an auto paint and body technician, owning his own paint and body shop at one time. He later worked as an Aircraft Painter at Sheppard Air Force Base until retiring in 2017. Larry was a tireless worker who enjoyed almost all sports but in particular college football and NASCAR racing. He also loved hunting and fishing and will be remembered for his kindness, love of family, friends, and pets.

Larry was preceded in death by his sister, Billie June Allen, and brother, Jerry Wayne Allen.

Survivors: He is survived by his son Gary Allen, son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Terri Allen; Brother Wendell and sister-in-law Gwyn Allen, brother JD and sister-in-law Alma Allen; Sister, Jackie and brother-in-law Alan Bartlett, and Sister-in-law Rita Allen; Grandchildren, Amanda Hansen, Katherine Crawford, Paden Allen, Michael Allen, and Cameron Allen; and great-grandson Travis Crawford, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
